IBM TotalStorage Technical Leadership Symposia (TLS)

Scott Schroeder will present as a Member of the TotalStorage Technical Leadership team, sharing expertise in the FAStT product line at 7 stops on the worldwide 2003 Technical Leadership Symposia (TLS).

The IBM TotalStorage Technical Leadership Program is being announced especially for the technical field force - both IBMers and BPs - to enhance your technical skills and better prepare you to sell, design, install and support storage products. 

The goals are to increase customer satisfaction with TotalStorage products and solutions and to support IBM TotalStorage revenue growth objectives. The program will include multiple technical symposia, hands-on workshops, Web conferences, technical roadmaps and much more.


IBM FAStT - Fibre Channel Storage Training

Beginning October 14, 2002, Scott Schroeder will be presenting the IBM FAStT Technical class for Asia Pacific at the three locations listed below.  Scott Schroeder will be on location at each of the three sites presenting the technical training  and the lab exercises. The lab exercises will be connecting remotely to the lab equipment in Raleigh, NC.

As part of the Technical Leadership Program, IBM TotalStorage Education
is offering a new 4-Day hands-on course. This course will allow attendees to plan for, install, configure, manage and perform problem isolation on a FAStT storage area network (SAN).

The emphasis of the course is using Storage Manager and SAN Navigator to manage and monitor all aspects of the SAN.

Who should attend?
Anyone involved in the planning, installation, configuration, or support of IBM FAStT Storage systems.

What are the prerequisites?
Technical knowledge and experience with Open System server and Fibre Channel environment.

What will I learn?
How to plan, install, configure, and manage a FAStT storage environment. You will learn how the FAStT products are used in the Open Systems environment, including Windows 2000, AIX, Solaris and HP-UNIX.

Brisbane Helpcentre Gets a Boost

A SAN-solution and Datacentre training session held by PC Institute at the new Brisbane Helpcentre had overwhelming attendance by students from across the AP region including: China, HK, Korea, A/NZ and Taiwan. With subject matter expertise provided by Scott Schroeder from Research Triangle Park, NC and the skilled helpcentre staff from Brisbane, students provided excellent customer satisfaction feedback, resulting in future classes now being planned to be scheduled in other AP countries. Scott will be developing enhancements to the IBM's SAN and Datacenter courses in Greenock, Scotland.
Due to budgetary restrictions this project has been postponed until late 3Q01.


June 4-8, 2001Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

Scott will be conducting a SAN/Datacenter course in Brisbane, Australia for IBM's Asia Pacific region. The audience is Advanced Technical Support personnel from Japan, China, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Australia.

SCS-SS is working with IBM to develop a training course for Microsoft Clustering tools. The offering will promote Microsoft Cluster Server and MS Exchange 5.5/2000 and MS SQL Server 7/2000. Scheduled for release in April 2001.

August 21- September 28, 2000Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

SCS-SS is working closely with IBM to ready their staff for support of the Datacenter OEM program.  Our staff has participated in the Datacenter internship at the IBM Center for Microsoft Technologies, and the WHQL HCT testing at Microsoft for IBM Netfinity servers.

Using this information we are working with IBM to provide world-wide training for Level2-5 Help Center personnel.  In September we are traveling to Greenock, Scotland to participate in a residency to develop courseware for Level5 Help Center Training, and to develop ongoing OEM Datacenter training for IBM and IBM Business Partners.
